DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n \nDay Workshop July 22, Saturday 9:10 am to 4:30 pm\nIn-Person Only at Anubhuti Meditation and Retreat Center in Novato, CA\nIn response to a special request, a one-day option is offered during the LVE retreat for people who are not able to attend the full weekend workshop.\nThe day-only participants will also be able to join the Friday and Saturday evening sessions via Zoom, which will include an overview on Friday evening and sharing of success stories of refugees and at-risk street children by Diane Tillman on Saturday evening.\nNurturing Hearts, Educating Minds\nAs more and more young people and adults are experiencing anxiety, depression and violence, Living Values Education offers a multi-pronged approach that is incredibly helpful, low-cost and easy to implement. The LVE activities and approach help teachers, parents, counselors, community members, business owners and professionals:\n\nBuild a positive culture of respect and caring\nDevelop an understanding of and love for key universal values, such as peace, respect and honesty and their effects on ourselves, the society and the world\nModel and teach positive social and emotional skills, including conflict resolution\nOffer relaxing focusing exercises to help people decrease anxiety and build wellbeing and resiliency\nShare assertive and cooperative social skills to dramatically decrease bullying\nDevelop an understanding of climate change and the many things we can do to make a positive difference!\n\n \nFacilitators: Belen Maggiolo and Annie Jorgensen\n\nBelen Maggiolo was the Focal Point for LVE in Venezuela for 12 years and now is on the LVE board of directors for the USA and the international organization. A professional educator, Belen has translated several LVE books.\nAnnie Jorgensen  with an M.S. in Educational Counseling, is a retired primary and special education teacher who taught LVE for 10 years with stellar results. She has a wealth of experience from her years of experience working with people of all  ages.  \nTranslation available in Spanish\nCosts:\nRegular LVE workshop fee: $40\nPreschool and day-care teachers: $20\nPlease plan to make a separate contribution for lunch and tea/snack break;\n$50 for the day is suggested. There are scholarships available to pre-school educators and day-care workers.\nWe appreciate your contribution so our services can continue to be offered.
