The Student
The Brahma Kumaris is made up of individuals of all ages and experiences, who study spiritual knowledge that promotes respect for all faith traditions, and that coherently explains the nature of the soul, God, time and karma, inspiring an enlightened lifestyle.
We practice and teach Raja Yoga meditation, which relaxes the mind and nurtures a healthy balance between our inner and outer worlds. Through numerous social service activities and partnerships, we promote spiritual understanding, leadership with integrity and elevated actions towards a better world.
The Role of Women As Spiritual Leaders
Worldwide, Brahma Kumaris is the largest spiritual organization led by women. It was the founder, Prajapita Brahma Baba, who chose to put women in charge of the institution from the beginning, and this distinguished Brahma Kumaris on the stage of the world’s religions and spiritual organizations. For more than 80 years, his leadership has been characterized by constant courage, the ability to forgive and a deep commitment to unity. Although they occupy the highest administrative positions, women have always made decisions in partnership with men. It is a partnership and consensus leadership model based on respect, equality and humility. As such, it results in an example of talented and harmonious management.
