People of all cultures and backgrounds were invited to join us in decorating the holiday tree with ornaments from all faith traditions, sharing of music, good wishes and good company. We decorated our dining room space and brought in the sound equipment. Of course, there was time to sing favorite carols.

The tree is a symbol of life in many cultures, and as we go through the season of darkness, we bring the tree inside to enliven our spirits. People from different faiths were invited to come up and say a bit about how light is represented in their faith tradition. It was as if all the faiths were branches. Connected to one seed of Love and Light. One united source.

Homemade holiday treats and warm mulled cider were served. There were some people that came for the first time and some long time friends, some were neighbors and students and some flew in from other states. It was a warm, loving and sincere atmosphere with about 35 people.
